Character Description:
Character History:
Born Donald Robin Stevens, his mother an "island wench", his father a sailor who set anchor at the island, porked his mother, and was never seen again. Drake was born soon thereafter, an oddity, for his mother had typically lost her children soon after having conceived them, due to her incessant love of rum and opium. Drake, in spite of this, was born in nearly perfect health, though there was worry he would grow addicted to the same addictions that his mother did. He eventually would find himself addicted to the bottle, but his tollerance for it seems to be greater then his mother's.

Drake mostly fended for himself growing up, having a deeply-seeded knowledge that something about the life his mother lived was not right for her. He loved the ocean, and loved the bottle, but his mothers actions disgusted him. Such disgust only expontentiated when she continued to do it, in spite of having become pregnant whilst he was able to be aware of it. She lost four children in this manner, before finally giving birth to a baby that Drake immediately took care of at his own insistance. Elizabeth Marie Stevens was born, immediately nicknamed 'Liz' by the Knight-to-be. The baby, unlike Drake, was not a strong child.. She was very sick, very underweight, and extremely fragile. The fact that she survived birth at all was a, in Drake's words, "bloody miracle."

Unfortunately, the miracle would soon end. Her mother, in a drunken fit of anger, came home one night early. With Liz in his arms, Drake attempted to calm down his mother's anger, which only led to her throwing a blow at him. Unable to defend himself, the man took a full-force punch to the face, and was knocked unconcious by a woman with years of bar fighting behind her. Drake's body twisted and he landed upon the infant he could no longer protect, his conciousness faded to black and unable to draw her closer to his form. The baby was broken underneith Drake's body, and died painlessly. Her mother, too drunk to possess any sense of awareness, left the room unaware and unconcerned.

That night as Drake's mother slept, after the baby's body had been buried in a shallow grave dug by the man's own hand, he took a bottle of rum, and proceeded to uncork it and jam it down her throat whilst she slept. Her body spasmed as it struggled for air, before she finally passed out once more and died with the rum filling her lungs. Drake would forever regret this night, but right then he was not feeling much but hatred and anger. He buried his mother, too, under the cold mud of the island paradise-turned-hell.

It was only then that Drake ran, down to the seas where he'd taken solace as a child. Sixteen years old, wearing the barest of armor and his two swords, was offered a job by a Captain of a smaller ship, which would turn out to be the entry point for his enlistment in the North Star Navy

Believing Avolonia to be his sole saving grace in life, the lone reason why he survived against all odds, he became fanatically loyal to her. His dedication to her soon became zealotic, to the point of murder and mass slaughter in her name for her sake. He aspires to someday lead all loyal to her in a war against all who would harm the waters.

"To those that would harm the sea, may your Gods and Goddesses have mercy upon your souls. For I will not." - Drake Benton.
